A look back at 2019 Hensol Castle Wedding

Massive apologies if I bang on about this at every opportunity but I love laughter and its one of those things that make a great day and in turn – photographs. This was certainly high on the agenda for Aimee and Tom’s wedding and it meant the day was so easy to photograph. Aimee had an absolute riot of a time and the guests were full of laughter themselves. I knew some of the guests so knew that it would be fun and I was not let down by the joy that surrounded the day and the laughter and emotion that I was privilidged to be part of. The wedding ceremony was in Hensol Castle but I checked in on both the bride and groom at The Vale Hotel and their house respectively for the final preparations. Tom was getting ready in the house and had a few groomsmen around and it was quite a relaxed and quiet affair and then I went to see Aimee and her bridesmaids at The Vale ……. As soon as I got down the corridor I could hear laughter. That is always a very good sign!

As you can see from the photographs below there was plenty going on in Aimee’s hotel suite and it was busy with the usual mix of hair, make up, dresses, shoes and of course much laughter. The day (as it always seems to) went at speed from the moment I arrived at the venue and got the photos of the boys and waited for Aimee to arrive on the shuttle from the hotel. It was a fun and very personal ceremony followed by quick group photos and then time for the bride and groom to enjoy the company of their guests in the beautiful srroundings of the castle. We headed off for a few photos with Aimee and Tom and got some lovely shots of  a very happy couple down by the lake and both inside and outside the castle. I really enjoyed the shoot as it was relaxed with some lovely shots that captured their personalities. The couple photographs are the main event for a photographer and once they are done the job is to fill in the story of the other bits of the day. This included some rather fine speeches and after this a casino where all ages got involved and thankfully betting without real money!

My final duties of the night were to organise a sparkler line – which is easier said than done at that time of night, a quick cake cut and then it was straight into first dance and capturing the guests dancing. There was also a quick bouquet toss on the dance floor too and that was it for the night. It was also the first wedding of a really busy September so feet up and a glass of wine was definitely on the cards when I got home.

Congratulations guys and thanks for letting me be with you on your day.
