Charlotte & Alex – Fonmon Castle wedding photographer

Today we have a lovely Fonmon Castle wedding to start off my week. I have used a few of the photos from this day to put on instagram / facebook and they seem to have gone down well but I only remembered how great this day was when I was looking through my 2017 weddings for advertising images. Ths wedding was the second of a weekend at the end of August – the first wedding (Kelly and Tom) can be seen here. It was a glorious day and Charlotte got ready at home and then finished off her preperation at the Castle. This gave me time to photograph both the bride and groom before the ceremony and get to know them both as well as their families and bridesmaids / groomsmen. I love this part of the day as I can build up a relationship with those involved and this makes the day run far more smoothly. It can also be good fun and I always think that the more fun the bride and groom have the better the photos they get. Charlotte and Alex laughed lots at this time and I knew I was going to have a good day and we got some great photos because of it.

The ceremony was basically just Charlotte laughing alot, some vows and plenty of love. After that we had 45 minutes (a time frame discussed with Alex before the wedding) to do a meet and greet, some family photos and shots of the couple. Of course I nailed it and got some fantastic shots along the way. This gave Charlotte and Alex another 45 minutes to spend time with their friends and family – this is really important and I, where possible, will make sure that it happens. Its what the wedding is all about. I can also get loads of good candid photos at this time too.

I really enjoyed the speeches after the meal and more laughing from the bride and groom and guests before the first dance in the hallway – which is a slight challenge for a photographer but then there is the staircase which allows shots from up high which works well for shots of the guests dancing. There was some great dancing going on from a number of the guests and I got some brilliant photos of this too.

Before I left I spent 10 more minutes with the bride and groom taking some photographs with my lights and these can be seen at the bottom of the blog and worth checking out if you are looking for something different. This a really easy shoot for the bride and groom as they dont have to really engage as they do earlier in the day and we still get some stunning photos.

Congratulations again to Charlotte and Alex and I hope I have done justice to their day!
