Pencoed House Wedding – Jodie and Frank

Its been a long time since my last blog but when you realise that the last south wales wedding you blogged was from almost 14 months ago you know you need to sort that out! So this wedding of Jodie and Frank took place on new years eve 2015. It was a prdictably overcast / wet day outside but the wedding was full of sunshine and fun. Jodie laughed all day as did her new husband – Frank. The day started for me at The Vale Hotel for photographs of bridal prep and this is part of the day I really enjoy as it gives me time to get to know the bride and her bridesmaids and get a feeling for the day ahead. It was a good atmosphere in the room – which had all bridesmaids and make up and hair and gave me plenty to photograph. I even managed some shots with Jodie on her own in her dress before heading off to Pencoed House to meet and photograph the boys.

Pencoed House is a great venue and even in the depths of winter there are photographic opportunities to be had if you have a game couple with you. The lack of light at that time of year was no problem to getting the photos but the drizzle did not help. It meant that the main group photographs were taken inside as the brilliant staff at Pencoed gave me 20 minutes or so to get these done before they set up for the wedding breakfast. We did mange to get outside with the help of umbrellas, different footwear and a break in the weather and I was really pleased with the shots I got in that 20 minute quick fire period.

The rest of the day was fantastic too with the chance for a quick session outside with my lighting before the first dance took place ON TIME and the day ended for me in plenty of time to get home and celebrate the end of the year with my girls at a party. That was a lovely way to end the year though with fun people at the wedding and elsewhere. Enjoy the photos and happy erm …new year …
