Todays new edit is from a wedding that I wanted to look back on as I saw these guys at Sandy’s brothers wedding last year. I had such a lovely time seeing them and photographing Gwennan and Jos’ wedding at Rosedew farm just before lockdown! This Cardiff Castle Wedding was from 2019 and was so local that I got a taxi there and back! That is so unusual and I am usually travelling for at least an hour on most wedding days.
Clarissa and Sandy live in America and Clarissa’s family and friends came over for the wedding. They absolutely loved the Castle and Wales in general and I really loved chatting with them during the day. I also managed to time to chat to my old mate John, who was running and being the MC for the wedding. We used to play cricket together at a very mediocre level, although John was a decent batsman and we batted together lots and put on some good partnerships.
The wedding day was an overcast May day in Cardiff but there was lots of laughter from the start in the Angel hotel for bridal prep and this carried on all day. The ceremony and first dance were in the undercroft and this is a dark room with very few windows but luckily I spoke to the registrar (who I have met loads of times) and we made sure they stood in just the right place for window light for the vows.
The edit I have done on this wedding is not vastly different to their original wedding but it is a little sharper and has a slightly different tone. Its not a bad edit and one I may use over the next year (if I ever manage to photograph a wedding!) The black and white is a little less muted too and I think they worked well through out the day which as I have discussed in other blogs is such an important factor to getting great wedding photos that the client will love.
Please get in touch if you want to chat through your day and why not have a snoop round the wedding gallery one evening rather than watching box sets!
