Olivia & Jai – St Tewdrics Wedding

I have not blogged for a very long time but what a blog to go with. This St Tewdrics wedding from June 2019 was beautiful day in every sense and Olivia and Jai were the perfect couple to photograph. They were both so relaxed, had a great day and the sun was shining. This makes the day easy for me to photograph and at this paticular wedding there were so many great photos of the the couple that I could have given them 1000+ images!

The whole day was at St Tewdrics House aside form bridal prep that took place in Cardiff in Olivia’s parents house. The house was lovely but it had the key ingredient that any photographer look for – good quality natural light. It just gives so much better photographs than having to rely on artificial light. It was the time I got to know the family and they were all very relaxed too and this gives a good gauge on how the rest of the day will run. The one suprise during bridal prep was when the car driver turned up and it was their family friend Owen Teale – who you may know from ‘Game of Thrones‘ but I knew from ‘Stella‘. Was really nice to chat to him later in the evening.

I had not photographed a wedding at St Tewdrics before but really want to go back at some point soon. The venue is full of natural light and the grounds give enough variation that allow interesting and varied photographs of both the couple and their guests. The ceremony and the wedding breakfast are in the conservatory that has glass in the ceiling and the walls and for the ceremony it helped show off the happiness and joy of Olivia and Jai as they got married. This continued though the day and they were barely seen without massive smiles on their faces! This was helped by Picasso Griffiths being around to draw caricatures of many of their guest and they always make for good candid photographs.

I really love the photos below and hope that you can see why. The photographs of the two of them in the evening are some of my favourites from the year so far and we were able to catch the sun at the right time to make them perfect. The photo shoot before the meal was quite short (by their request) and I love to have a time limit to work to and keeps us all focussed and allows the bride and groom to have more time with their guests. Apologies for the short blurb but I really need you to look at the photographs and not read my nonsense! If you like what you see then why not get in touch here or see more of my short blogs here.
