Winter Wedding – Oldwalls Wedding Photography

Todays blog and the first in many months is a from some if my Oldwalls Wedding Photography. This pre-Christmas wedding was always going to be hard as I had stupidly (and for reasons of finance) booked this wedding on my daughters birthday! I felt like an awful person for most of the year leading up to the day and made sure I got loads of cuddles in before she left for school. The feeling of a terrible father when driving down was very quickly replaced by a bride bearing a gift for my daughter and a generally warm welcome. It was going to be a good day! And it was …despite the cold!

This winter Oldwalls Wedding Photography was one of my favourites of the season and I could not help but fall in love with this couple and their daughter. They were so lovely and so relaxed that the day felt like I was shooting a friends wedding even though I had only met Charlotte once aside from meeting her a few years ago at another wedding. There was also the added bonus of getting to meet their gorgeous daughter who was only 9 months old and had a mop of dark hair – very different to my daughters who did not have that much hair until they were about 3!

Charlotte was getting ready at one of Oldwalls cottages (Cerrig Glan) and there already was Craig from Pristine Videography who I had worked with in June at the wedding where my camera and lens was destroyed by a wave. Thankfully this time there was no such drama and Craig and myself had a good day working together and getting some really great narrative footage of a special day.

Charlotte and Alex loved their photos and their guests had a really great time. The weather was overcast and then wet in the evening but thankfully I persuaded them to get out just before I left in the rain(under an umbrella) for one last lit photo. They were not sure but as soon as they saw the image on the back of Craig’s camera they knew that they made the right decision and they did not get wet.
