Avoiding the rain – South Wales wedding photographer

I really dislike the rain … it ruined many a happy childhood day and then frustrated me hugely when I played cricket for over 25 years. It now seems intent to disrupt my weddings and 2017 was officially (according to me) the wettest year on record … maybe not the wettest but certainly the most overcast and drizzliest! I am surely not the only South Wales Wedding Photographer that was constantly looking to the sky during the day like some demented John Kettley.

The photos taken below were from Eli and Dan’s wedding in July. They were married in Reading and then we got stuck in traffic and headed to Templars Barn in Shefford where the rain decided to pay a visit too. We decided that we had to go outside and with an umbrella in hand we took some shots and, to be honest, I do not really like photos with umbrellas in view. It works for 1 or 2 but given the chance I am much happier to get the couple into the dry and then I can be the only one braving the wet. It is not always ideal but I think that the shots work better if they are not all with an umbrella showing off how wet their wedding day was. I hope you agree.
