Natalie and Ed – Hensol Castle Wedding

In August I spent the day with the lovely Natalie and Ed and a Hensol Castle Wedding. It was a very relaxed day and this is the sort of wedding I love. It is the one day that the bride and groom are able to get so many friends and family together so I like to let the couple get on with it and use their time sparingly. Of course sometimes the bride and groom like to get a few moments away and that is great but I have always felt that 20 odd minutes for shots of the two of them is ample and will (in most instances) get more than enough special shots. I also try to do only a small number of group photographs – 10 is agood number as it can really be the worst part of any couples day – and mine too!

I first met Natalie and Ed only a few months before the wedding after I had spoken to Natalie on the phone and so pleased that we hit it off when we met. I knew that there day was going to be chilled and so it proved. I met them both at The Vale Hotel where they were getting ready and was able to spend a good time with them and their entourage before the day got underway. The ceremony was in one of the gorgeous rooms at Hensol Castle and from that everyone gathered outside for drinks, photographs and some magic from Bryan Gunton – which is always good for a photo of the bemused or laughing wedding guest.

The rest of the day held much laughter too all the way up to and past the first dance. The couple dance elegantly and then the wedding guests reeked carnage on the dance floor and I captured it and is always a part I love as you get a good number of photographs in a short period of time. It can be sweaty work so is always a good time to back away from everyone and have a cold glass of wine with my feet up.

Congratualtions again to Natalie and Ed and thanks for letting me be there to capture it.
